9:15 – 10:15     A River Runs Through It: A discussion on The Navarro Watershed and the Impact of Local Agriculture

Speaker:  Nancy A. Smith, Assoc. Project Director North Coast, The Nature Conservancy California, will review scope and objectives of the ongoing study of the Navarro River Watershed and present the results of 11 months of stream flow gauging.

Speaker:  DFW (speaker TBD)  will offer a frank discussion on water impacts of illicit marijuana cultivation and state monitoring  and enforcement plans.

10:15 – 11:00      Viticultural and Winemaking Strategies for a Dry Season

Speaker: Glenn McGourty, Viticulture and plant science advisor UCCE Davis.
Glenn has been one of the most active, influential and successful contributors  to the Mendocino agricultural community and continues to be a vital resource for farmers of all kinds.

11:10 – 12:00      Diversity of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Tannin Profiles 

Speaker:  Steve Price, Ph.D, ETS Laboratories
Steve will explain  how environmental factors can impact tannin profiles and discuss vineyard management strategies to modulate tannin profiles.

                        Tasting Panel: From the Deep End to Boonville, Pinots that span the Valley
This informative tasting will include phenolic panels produced  by ETS.

12:15 - 1:15         Lunch
A delightful repast in the Fairground's Redwood Grove prepared by Boont Berry Farm and will include a selection of local wines.

1:15 – 2:15          The Multiple Personalities of Pinot Noir

Speakers: Arnaud Weyrich (Roederer),  Alex Crangle (Balo), Jim Klein (Navarro),  Anthony Filiberti (Knez) and Michael Fay (Goldeneye) 
Who is she really? Sparkling or Still? White, Pink or Red? Light and crisp or rich and luscious? This tasting panel will explore the stylistic diversity of Pinot Noir being produced in Anderson Valley. Featuring a broad selection of styles to demonstrate the many faces Anderson Valley Pinot Noir has to offer. 

2:25- 3:15           Focus Tasting of Vineyard Designate Wines: Angel Camp Vineyard

Speakers: Brian Zalaznik (ACV), Anne Moller-Racke (Donum), Dan Goldfield (Dutton Goldfield), Tony Sanchez (AVM)
Every year we take an in depth look (and taste) at one of Anderson Valley’s preeminent vineyard sites. For 2014, we have selected Angel Camp Vineyard. Three producers, Donum Estates, Dutton Goldfield and the estate vintner Angel Camp, currently source fruit from this unique vineyard site. Working closely with Tony Sanchez of Ardzrooni Vineyard Management, Angel Camp has proven itself a complex and dynamic vineyard capable of producing world class Pinot Noir. The tasting panel will be discussing the inspiration, history and practices in the vineyard and how their vision has come to fruition in the bottle.


3:00 – 4:15         Postmodern Winemaking
                          Rethinking The Modern Science Of An Ancient Craft.

Speaker: Author Clark Smith will share the extensive knowledge he has accumulated that conveys a new vision of the winemaker's craft--one that credits the crucial roles played by both science and art in the winemaking process. 

Followed by Q and A and Book signing
